Michelle Reid graduated from Georgetown University in Washington DC in 2013 with her masters degree in science and nursing. Michelle began her nursing career as a licensed practical nurse in 1995. She graduated from Indian River State College with her associates degree in nursing in 2003 then returned to IRSC for her bachelors degree in 2011. She has over 22 years experience in the field of nursing. Michelle expanded her experience by working in various settings including long-term care, wound care, home health, pre/post operative units, cardiac units, and the intensive care units prior to receiving her masters degree.
Michelle is certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and she is also certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She has served as a member of the Florida Nurse Practitioner Network, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Caribbean Nurses Association of the Treasure Coast, and a former member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.
Prior starting Patient’s Choice, VIP Wellness with her partner she practiced as a hospitalist nurse practitioner in a local hospital, a family nurse practitioner in an outpatient clinic, and a nurse practitioner in pain and addiction management.
Michelle has called Port Saint Lucie home since 1989. She participates in community health fairs. She is passionate about empowering her patients through education. Michelle believes in forming a partnership with her patients to assist them to achieving better health. Her other interest includes holistic and natural medicine, animal rights, Reiki, and meditation.
Gitana Ng earned her Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice from Nova Southeastern University, her doctoral project focused on, weight management for middle-aged women. She is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the Association of American Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and American National Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her experience includes internal medicine, aesthetics, and geriatrics.
Prior to joining Patient’s Choice/VIP Wellness, Gitana worked as an ARNP in internal medicine and geriatrics. She currently teaches Nurse Practitioner students. She also mentors Doctorate nurse candidates from various Universities nationwide. Gitana has served as a research council member and as a Doctor of Nursing Practice University Project Chairperson.
She has served as a member of AANP, The Nurse Practitioner Network, The Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach, Caribbean Nurses Association of the Treasure Coast, and a former member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.
She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 25 years caring for medical oncology, cardiac, pre/post-operative patients. Gitana has extensive experience treating a wide range of patients. Gitana has been a St. Lucie County resident for over 26 years and continues to participate in community outreach and volunteer activities from the Treasure Coast to the Palm Beaches.
Gitana’s primary focus is on health promotion through patient education.
